Dewey’s Barrels, LLC (DB) was formed in 2021 to provide a convenient and economical retail supply channel for consumers interested in purchasing used whiskey, bourbon and wine barrels, along with related parts (including barrel staves, hoops and heads) for many uses including: • Landscape decorative barrels, planters, or rain barrels (whole or half) • Outdoor Patio or deck tables (whole or half) • Interior decoration – tables, chairs, bookcases, shelving, storage, bars, and art pieces • Barrel staves, hoops, and heads made into signs, artwork, and custom woodworking items • Cut up barrel stave chunks for BBQ smoking and fireplace or firepit scents • Barrel aging for spirits, beer, wine, coffee, syrup, and cider (for use by individuals, distillers, brewers, vintners, coffee roasters, syrup makers and more)
Dewey's Barrels sells original Whiskey, Bourbon and Wine Barrels as-is (rustic), and finished to (new looking). We also create custom items built from the entire barrel, as well as using parts from them for furniture, and home decor items. There is a long history of artisans making items by repurposing barrels, and we are one of them!
Owners, Jerry Lattal and Tracy Dargenio, collect and create unique items from each barrel available for sale in an equally unique Quonset Hut building on Poquonock Ave, in Windsor, CT. With a love and passion for rustic American décor, their dream came true with the opening of Dewey’s Barrels in 2021.
This distinctive and creative shop offers visitors an experience not to be missed! Enjoy a visit to learn some history, purchase from an array of offerings, or a gift from local artists. And, to greet you at the door is their golden retriever “Dewey” (the Chief Marketing Officer of Dewey’s Barrels).
As community stewards, both Jerry and Tracy support other local businesses and the community as a whole, by donating to local non-profit organizations and publicizing other small businesses in the area. Shop local!
Jerry Lattal acquires, readies, and sells the used barrels and related parts for a myriad of uses (a pleasant break after 36 years in the corporate insurance and investment world). He is a graduate of Central Connecticut State University and received his MBA from the University of Connecticut. Jerry is also the CEO of a non-profit youth softball sports organization and has been a long-time head coach of college showcase softball teams. In addition, Jerry is an FAA licensed drone pilot.
Tracy Dargenio’s experience is from extensive work in the retail field having managed two retail shops, and is currently the office manager at a local trucking company. While working alongside her partner Jerry at Dewey’s, she is the strategic force behind Dewey’s marketing and social media presence. Tracy brings her love of arts & crafts and her unique creative vibes to create one-of-a-kind pieces you won’t see anywhere else!
